1.
At the very edge of the desert plain The well is well within sight Begging for a drink, words are hard to find When lips are dry and broken Horse without a name hauls an empty cart Your friend is tired and trembling Saddled hip to hip, steady as she goes No way of parting ways now Plowing through the land, drowning in the sand The mind is cracked and crumbling Even a mirage holds a sign of hope No way of turning back now LET IT LEAD YOU LET IT DRAW YOU LET IT MAKE YOU DRINK IT’S NOT WHAT YOU THINK AT ALL
2.
A mind made up merely Of an obstinate opinion Will will it's way out wisely Through the path of least resistance I made up my mind to follow the signs That lead down a road you knew was unkind Please do forgive me 'Cause when there's a choice to do what you're told Or warm up your voice before it grows old You'll heed the call that's most insistent A song sings its sweetest Through the path of least resistance MONEY WILL GO GOD WILL DIE
3.
What I Want 03:22
I know what I want I will not let go It's all I see A single dream I will not go soft I've waited so long To realise What's deep inside Calling on It's calling on Calling on to carry me Across the sea to destiny I know what I want I can't let it go It's all I see A single dream Holding on I'm holding on Holding on to what is mine I've paid the price to keep this alive Calling on And on and on Holding on I'm holding on
4.
Moonshine 04:28
A stairway to the moon Dark side calling up the loons Truth on this side shines so bright That cowards hide behind We've come a long way from what you've made Come a long way from what you claimed Run a long way from what you may deny One or more ways for you to say Understate the role that you have played Just the wrong thing to say to us tonight Walking to the sound of another tune Paying attention to the clues Maybe you could join in too It couldn't come too soon We've come a long way from what you've made Come a long way from what you claimed Run a long way from what you may deny One or more ways for you to say Understate the role that you have played Just the wrong thing to say to us tonight Don't forget just what it is at stake More than just a case of make or break You dare to take us for a walk in the moonlight

Everyone's famous in this town and This is our pedigree No one's complaining 'bout the outcome Guess we'll just wait and see Who are the ones to break the mould and Who will return into the fold? Let's just keep rolling on No one seems anxious in this town but Just between you and me Something is bubbling underground so What else could it be? There are those who disagree and Then there's others just like you and me You better watch your act Everyone's naked in this town, oh It’s like a high school dream Turning itself into a nightmare I get the third degree How can I show my face around here Now my clothes have all just disappeared? Who's gonna watch my back
7.
Stars 04:59
Stars are reminders of the people I have known In my life no one else has shown me what it's like to truly feel alone But I found you And you found me And I told you How astounding we were You are inside of me everywhere I go I look up, choose a star and slowly count the days until I get back home Where I find you And you find me Then I'll hold you We'll be happi-ier Yeah I found you And you found me And I told you How astounding we were
8.
In through the ears and out of the mouth Over the years it seemed the best way out Taken on board without a fight Shift it around, make it feel, alright? Learn to control, feel your way through Change the details if it all rings true Undo old ways, learn them again This time you'll make a sweeter refrain Now you're on track so switch of the lights Turn up the sound, feelings burn bright Light the first fuse to set the rest off Firecracker chain cannot be stopped ..... and go off like the sun
9.
Time, time has served me well 'Cause I came out of my shell Memories of better years Washed away the recent tears And flood me with insight I FEEL GOOD - I CAN TELL YA IT’S SO TRUE - I COULD BET YA HOLLYWOOD - WOULD MAKE A PICTURE OF MY LIFE Please, I need your help You see, I’m full of myself I get the joke is growing old Tell me something I don’t know Help me set things right I FEEL GOOD - I CAN TELL YA IT’S SO TRUE - I COULD BET YA HOLLYWOOD - WOULD MAKE A PICTURE OF MY LIFE I’M GOING OUT TODAY - TO START A NEW LIFE THERE’S NO WAY - TO KEEP ME INSIDE MAIL ORDER FORM - GOT ME A NEW WIFE Why would anyone wanna be here? We’re flying, climbing, high into the stratosphere See the world from a different view The Earth below can keep its hue Jump aboard this flight I FEEL GOOD - I CAN TELL YA IT’S SO TRUE - I COULD BET YA HOLLYWOOD - WOULD MAKE A PICTURE OF MY LIFE I’M GETTING OUT TODAY - TO START A NEW LIFE THERE’S NO WAY - TO KEEP ME INSIDE MAIL ORDER FORM - GOT ME A NEW WIFE Alright !!

about

This 9-track album is the debut solo release from Trevor Bryan Cotton, under the moniker TBC. After playing in many Perth bands for a quarter century he has distilled his journeys through rock, post-punk, Brit-pop and Americana into this collection.

The guests below who appear on these songs formed the band that played live throughout 2015-2016.

credits

released January 22, 2016

TREVOR BRYAN COTTON wrote, played, recorded and mixed most of the album by himself, performing drums, bass, guitars and vocals via a valve console to a 2" Studer tape machine.

ANDY J. BARTLETT played the most amazing keys on each song, whether organic or other-worldly. His occasional backing vocals and additional mixing added an extra touch of class.

SHANE CROSS is an old buddy of Trev's who played bass guitar on "Everyone's Famous In This Town".

GLEN ADAMS is another good friend, playing some electric guitar on "What I Want" and "Famous".

TIM STACEY is a recent friend of Trevor's and he's a world-class drummer in his own right. He would have been given a drum track to play if Trevor hadn't got to them first. He plays maracas on the album's title track.
